What is Ohana?

Ohana is a Hawaiian word that translates to ‘family’ yet in a broader, more inclusive sense integrating the extended family, friends and community.

Ohaha encompasses not only close kin but also extended family,  friends, and even those who are not related but are considered part of one's community or social group.

Ohana Support is more than just a service – it is a compassionate movement that transforms how we view and deliver care, connection, and community resilience. Rooted in holistic wellbeing and collective healing, Ohana Support acts as a Change Maker Service, catalysing personal, relational, and systemic transformation.

Ohana Support is committed to providing holistic, person-centred support services that promote wellbeing, resilience, and social inclusion. Our Governance and Policy Document outlines the framework that governs our activities, ensures accountability, and aligns our operations with our mission and values.

“Ohana” means family – and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
